The site for moves with a gap in the middle

Storage customers are buying two moves and everything in between, often around a settlement that won't sit still. The site has to explain the whole journey, the rules while goods are stored, and the insurance.

Removalists who store goods between moves

This build is for removalists who pack, collect and store, then deliver again weeks or months later, in your own facility or one you use. If half your jobs start with "settlement is before we can get into the new place", this is your page.

Storage customers have a gap: a sale that settles before the purchase, a renovation that runs long, a year overseas, or a parent's home to clear. They are not buying a move. They are buying the problem solved from the first pickup to the final delivery.

They compare you with self-storage, so they have a rough idea of what storage costs. StoragePrices.au's national median for a medium unit, the size it says suits a one-bedroom apartment, is $210/mo3, and a large unit suited to a two-bedroom house is $370/mo3. Your site explains what they get from you that a unit and a hired truck don't give them.

Their worries are about time and condition. What happens if the new home isn't ready on the day? How are items packed for months in storage? Can they get something out halfway through?

Consumer agencies prompt the delay question directly, telling people to ask about storage costs if moving day is delayed, and card surcharges1. The NSW Government adds that transit insurance can be extended to cover storage2 for a separate premium. A site that answers both saves a phone call and a worry.

Four faults that cost you move with storage work

You never see these happen. You see the result: a board with two jobs on Friday when it should have five, and no idea which enquiry went elsewhere.

  1. Fault

Storage is a separate page that never mentions the move on either side.

    What your site does instead

The whole journey on one page: pack and collect, inventory, into storage, access while stored, out again, delivered to the new address.

  2. Fault

Customers compare you only on the storage rate, against a self-storage unit.

    What your site does instead

A page that shows what they get from you that a unit and a hired truck don't: packing for months, an inventory, one business responsible start to finish.

  3. Fault

Nothing explains what happens when settlement moves.

    What your site does instead

Plain words on changed dates: how much notice you need, what a delay costs, and how the goods stay stored in the meantime.

  4. Fault

Insurance while stored is never mentioned.

    What your site does instead

An insurance page that says what your cover includes during storage, and what the customer should arrange or extend.

What the site has to prove before anyone rings

The whole journey on one page

The sequence, in order: pack and collect, inventory, into storage, access while stored, out of storage, deliver. Customers who see the full sequence understand what they are paying for and are less likely to compare you only on the storage rate.

How items are stored (containers, pallets or units), whether the facility is yours or a partner's, and how the inventory is kept.

Access rules

Whether customers can visit their goods, how much notice you need, and whether a part-retrieval costs extra.

Insurance while stored

What your cover includes during storage and what the customer should arrange, in plain words.

The pages on your job sheet

A typical layout for this kind of work. Yours is built from the jobs you take and the detail you send us, so anything you have nothing to say about is left off instead of padded out.

Asked by removals and storage

The plan behind it does not change from one mover to the next: the price, and what is on board.

I use a third-party storage facility. How should the site describe that?

Plainly. Say that you move goods into a storage facility you use, how they are packed and inventoried, and who the customer deals with if they need access. Don't imply you own a facility if you don't; customers find out, and it costs you the trust the storage job depends on.

Should I show storage prices?

If your prices are stable, a starting price by container or unit size helps. If they vary by facility or length of stay, the page explains what affects the price and you quote each job.

Can one quote form handle a move, storage and a second move?

Yes. The form asks whether storage is needed and, if so, shows the storage dates and delivery questions. The enquiry arrives as one job with two legs, not three separate messages.

What do customers most need to know about storage insurance?

Whether their goods are covered while stored, and if not, what they should arrange. Transit cover can often be extended to storage for a separate premium, so the page points them to ask.

Settlement dates move all the time. What should the site say?

What you need from the customer when a date changes, how much notice, and whether storage is charged by the week or month in the meantime. Customers between homes are anxious; a clear answer on your site is one less call.

Can customers get one box out halfway through?

Only if you allow it, and the access page says how: notice required, whether they visit or you deliver, and any part-retrieval charge. Say it once on the site and you stop explaining it on the phone.
